What is Pilates?
Pilates is a unique form of exercise that targets the whole body. It focuses on strengthening the trunk stabilising muscles, along with the global power muscles, to improve posture, strength, pain and stiffness. Pilates can be as gentle or as vigorous as you like. We will instruct you to your highest ability, always ensuring it is not painful. So whether you are looking to improve posture and health, manage pain or sculpt your body to perfection, Pilates can help.
- All our Pilates classes at The Physio Joint are instructed by a Physiotherapist specialising in Clinical Pilates and Rehabilitation (APPI qualified instructor).
- We have a maximum of 6 people per class to allow for plenty of 1 on 1 attention and instruction.
- If you have not previously attended Pilates, then we recommend a 30 minute individual session. This will allow us to teach you how to identify neutral alignment and pelvic tilt, and engage the core muscles without bracing the trunk.
- Class Times: Tuesday 5-6 pm, Thursday 6:30-7:30am, Thursday 3-4pm.
